The moment our eyes fell on Shoreline 106, we fell in love. Hard to believe that was almost 10 years ago.
Since then, we have replaced or restored most of the original foundation and latice woodwork. All of it
a labor of love! Artists, poets and people enjoying a recreatational weekend away have
filled our hearts with the shared enthusiasm for the lighthouse as well.
Ourselves, we haven't seen or heard anything. But we also keep to ourselves. We enjoy the cool sunsets while waving to passing ships. This is what we live for! Also, there is an emergency phone in the parking lot of Sam's Sport if you need it.
We would laugh it off but there's been some excitement in the news media. Full articles can be found in the Herrington Cescent newspaper. The library has old copies, ask for Edith at the copy desk.
The trails to the north east are open during the summer months. Signs are posted near our neighboring lighthouse, 105, to keep off, by order of the sheriff's department. We recommend staying off these trails. If you would like a photo, the ideal spot is off shore.
Travel expert
We enjoy all the seasons along the shoreline. However, for best travel times to avoid other tourists, the bugs or the heat, we recommend the spring and fall months. Sam's Sport and Rec can set you up with all the equipment and supplies needed for either overland travels or canoe trips along the shore.

The best location to get a photograph is about 100 feet off shore. It's possible to get Shoreline 106 with 105 in the distance.

The recreation shop was super helpful in supplying us gear. It was a fantastic weekend package for the fall season.

Don't be put off by slow service at the local cafe. It's all part of the small town atmosphere and good will.

Shoreline 106 owners were warm and welcoming. We received a personalized tour and spent many hours over wine hearing local tales!
