In all honesty, nothing what a reasonable person would call unusual happened at Shoreline 106. Our lighthouse is the first place the Sheriff's Department calls if there has been an incident along the cliffs leading to Shoreline 105. Several people have lost their lives along the trails leading there.
The first of the 3 lighthouses built in the summer of 1892. A land-grant was issued to Cmdr Sheridan (retired) to make the waterways safe for travel and commerce. The later feud with the Herringtons resulted in a fire. Only the footings remain from the structure.
An infestation of vermin caused 105 to be abandoned a few years back. This was during the incident when Barbara Rose found her fiance in a daliance. His body was found near the base, flung out onto the rocks from above. Once a year, on April 30th, teenagers read from her book there.
Shoreline 106 was sold duing the bidding process (to us!) following the government auction. We have restored as much as possible the living area and parking. Unfortunately, we are not allowed to shine the light but we set out candles which can be seen for miles.
